Cylinder Finish.

What do you consider to be a fair figure for irregularities in the cylinder bore ? By this we mean how much do you think the bore diameter may vary before oil consumption is affected.

That, we think, about covers most of the things we should like tobe enlightened upon, but if there are any other details you can furnish us with, we should appreciate them greatly. If of course you have any reliable methods of checking ring pressures and cylinder bore irregularities, and wearing properties of both rings and cylinders, and you care to give us particulars, we should again appreciate them considerably. The information would be used strictly confidentially.

Should you in turn require any information we can supply, we should be only too pleased to do so.

Trusting that we have not been too impertinent by asking all these questions.

We remain,

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
