X3573 To Mr. Brock. c.c. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} EFC2/T19.7.28. X3573 TEST COIL CASES AND DISCS MADE UP FROM EXPERIMENTAL MOULDING POWDERS. X2494 The powders in question are :- (1) Celeron Grade M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} (2) " " S. (3) Beetle powder. We have completed the electrical leakage tests on the coil cases, but so far we have not been able to perform these on the discs. Without quoting the actual results, these show that as regards electrical leakage at various temperatures all of these experimental moulded materials are at least as good as redmanol. We are handing you back the coil cases. It might be worth while using the two brown ones for the next two experimental coils, as it does not appear that the functioning of the coil itself is going to be upset by this material any more than in the case of the standard material. We will make a further report when we have completed the tests on the discs. EFC. | ||
