Poor clearance for the starting handle after fitting a new front bumper on chassis B.11.BN.

Re Chassis No. B.11.BN.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} Fairey.

I have duly fitted the new parts for the front bumper which you sent down, but we find that even with these fitted the clearance for one's hand and the starting handle is much too meagre.

Would it not be possible for the whole of the bumper bar to be pushed further forward about 3/8" or 1/2" and at the same time a protecting disc put on the end of the starting handle so that it would avoid one's hand getting caught on the bumper?

You will recollect that there is a recessed piece of sheet metal on each of the studs of the bumper which locate the 'U' clip that holds the stabiliser bar. If this recess was altered so that it was brought as far forward as possible, it would be a considerable improvement.

Lp.{Mr Lappin} who is delivering the car, has seen the job and is going to mention this matter to Mr. Fairey.
