With reference to the question of reducing the sponginess of the rear brakes, we send herewith N. sch. 2405., shewing the two camshafts stiffened up by increasing the diameter and drilling out. The effect is to make these shafts 50% stiffer than the Phantom, but on account of the increased leverage on EAC. 7. the motion on the pedal is only slightly less than on Phantom, namely, approximately .094 instead of .1. The weight of the shaft however is appreciably less than Phantom.

It will be seen that new pieces are called for, though of precisely similar design to those now in existence.
