With reference to the proposed tool kit for Peregrine II, we have the following observations to make. We seem to be repeating all the mistakes on this car that we tried recently to correct on P.II and the 20/25 HP. car. (1) For example, oil replenishing and draining plugs on the various parts of the car are all varying sizes again. Engine oil sump - 1/2" spanner. Gearbox drain plug - 1/2" spanner. filler plug - 1/2" spanner. Rear axle drain plug - 13/16" spanner. filler plug - 13/16" spanner. Steering column filler - 1/2" spanner. We suggest that the 13/16" size can be altered to 3/4" when the 11/16" X 13/16" spanner can be deleted, and in its place substitute a 3/4" x 5/8" spanner. (3/4" is required in several places and 5/8" is also required for servo adjustment.) In your list no 3/4" or 5/8" spanner is mentioned. Why not make all oil filling and draining plugs so that they can be undone with one spanner, 3/4" x 5/8". (2) A special spanner is needed for the petrol tank drain plug only - cannot this be altered - we suggested this alteration on P.II and 20/25 HP. (3) On your list you have omitted spanner E.79087 which is required for tappet adjustment. (4) A special 'C' spanner is called for to deal with the top water pipe connection; cannot these be deleted entirely; as recently recommended on 20/25 HP. and P.II. A decision has not as yet been reached on the following points :- | ||
