B.80 Carburetter Petrol Filter.

With reference to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/TAS.{T. Allan Swinden}4/JMS.30.4.40.

We send you herewith PL.240 showing the petrol filter mounted on the plinth of the carburetter and connected to a pipe which is bracketed to the bottom of the crankcase, from this point a flexible pipe run to the frame connection. The object in doing it this way is firstly to keep the pipe length under the bonnet to a minimum to avoid picking up heat and secondly we have tried to make the flexible pipe as short as we dare to save expense.

Previously a scheme had been instructed ECD.1432 in which the petrol filter was clamped to the crankcase. With this there is the possibility of the fuel boiling in the line when the engine is standing hot.

If at some future time we could buy Stromberg Carburetter AAV26 instead of AAV25 we should get a petrol filter for nothing as it is embodied in the carburetter.
