To R.{Sir Henry Royce} from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X3587 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}4/LG19.1.23. 4-Goshawk-11. X4219 X3587 We have been delayed in getting this car completed owing to the fact that when we fitted the new Bijur Starter Drive, we found that the gearing was very noisy. This, we consider, was due to the flywheel teeth having been badly damaged by the original Bendix. We have now dismantled the engine and have taken off the original gear ring and have fitted one of the experimental gear rings instructed in higher carbon steel. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
