To Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} From Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} c. to EFC. Handwritten: X7772 Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}2/MJ.6.10.30. X.7772. X.7780. LEFT-HAND CHASSIS. We are about to issue a Standardisation Sheet for the left-hand car, but in reviewing the failures which occurred on the 10,000 miles test we find that the electrical equipment came out badly during this test. (1) The battery was found to have collapsed entirely and was beyond repair. (2) The dynamo failed, due we understand to a faulty armature. (3) The dynamo cut-out gave trouble. Before we ask officials to sign a Standardisation Sheet based on the 10,000 miles test which was done in France, it will be necessary for EFC to give some explanation of these failures.
