To RHC. {R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} from Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /Les. GOVERNOR CONTROLLED SHOCK DAMPERS. By. {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} has now instructed to us and to production the new type shock damper valve to R.R. Sch. 469. This scheme replaces R.R. Sch. 411. The difference between R.R. Sch. 469 and R.R. Sch. 411 is in the boring of the valve chamber and the valves themselves. All the other parts are unaltered. The new valve chamber can be machined from the existing unmachined production castings. As this new valve is being used for production, and the fact that we know comparatively so little about it, will you please get these valves on the following chassis, as soon as possible. (1) 22-EX. all round. (2) 2 Bumper chassis (4 dampers). (3) 27-EX Rear dampers. (4) 20-EX all round. (5) One odd set of parts for the test rig. When governor controlled dampers are fitted to the 25 HP. chassis, this new valve to R.R. Sch. 469 will be required. Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /Les. | ||
