To Dodd (Le CanadelHenry Royce's French residence). From Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X7950. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}3/MJ.23.12.29. We shall be very interested to hear how 18-EX is running and what sort of trip you had down to Le CanadelHenry Royce's French residence. We should like to know whetherr you hear any knocks either hot or cold. If the pistons knock when cold, I should like to know whether the extra oil improves this. We are sending to you a new set of valve springs which we should like you to change at the first opportunity and let us know whether they overcome the valve noise which existed on 18-EX.
