TO [REDACTED] FROM EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} ORIGINAL BVI/22.3.33. COPY TO [REDACTED], HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 25.HP. GRID & PET.OL FILLER. We send herewith N.Sch.3707. shewing the Luggage Carrier and Petrol Tank Filler moved rearwards to clear a body approximately 1.000" longer than that we now build. This is required so that we may use the same length of column on "W" Steering as on the other rakes. In this connection we would point out that bodies are already being built 1.000" longer than the maximum calls for on our Chassis Print, so the body shewn is 2.000" longer than that limit. We see no reason now why the bottom of the rear panel should be so violently swept under and have suggested a new limit which can be put on the Chassis Print. It will be noticed that no changes in the design have been made and only the drilling has been altered. The safety head for spillage at the petrol filler is reduced by .600ins. if the same filler is used and we leave it to the Expl. Dept. to say whether it is necessary for you to make a new filler to regain this or not. L-D EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} | ||
