To Br.{T. E. Bellringer - Repair Manager} from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std. c. Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} c. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} 324 Further to our Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.22/AP.16.7.37, we regret the delay in forwarding the fans mentioned therein, but owing to the Works holiday the first three sets will not be ready for despatch until tomorrow. Referring to the question of fitting the modified starting handle base support bracket mentioned in above memo - we are afraid that the instructions contained therein were not very complete. Actually this modified support bracket is mounted off four stud extensions - two of these screw onto the present support bracket bosses on the timing case near side, while two screw onto two of the timing case securing studs on the off side. The two present support bracket bosses on the timing case off side (slack side of fan belt when driving) should have their studs removed and should be filed down sufficiently to clear the fan belt at high speeds - the stud holes should be tapped and plugged. All the necessary parts are being forwarded with the fans- will you please ensure that all parts removed (when these fans are fitted) are returned to the Expl.Dept. marked for the attention of Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.
