✓. FROM DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} Copy to SG.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} Copy to HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} ORIGINAL DAL/M6.6.30. X7270 X4522 P. 2. STARTING HANDLE. With reference to the question of modifications to the starting handle partly to deal with the fitting of front bumpers, and partly to facilitate carrying, R.{Sir Henry Royce} wishes us to send you several alternatives for inspection and test, as the question of appearance enters into it. We send herewith N. scheme 3118. shewing proposals for carrying the shaft permanently in place. There are two alternatives here - one for the rear end to be carried off the radiator cross member, and the other off the engine as now. In the latter case it may be that there will be visible movements of the starting handle which may be objectionable: in the former case the engine might get out of line to some extent. N. sch. 3119. herewith shews a proposal for dividing the starting handle in two parts to facilitate entry, and also storage. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
