Messrs. Rolls-Royce, Ltd.,
Nightingale Road,
DERBY.

For the attention of Mr. Robotham.

Dear Sirs,

Regarding your Order No. 10208 of December 1st., for 1 set of 40/50 Road Springs for Mr. Royce's car which leaves for France on next Saturday.

These springs have been designed, the work put in hand, and we expect to deliver them by passenger train on next Friday 5th inst.

We think that the Rear Springs will turn out to be quite satisfactory, but do not hesitate to point out that the Front Springs are fairly highly stressed for front springs at 27.7 Tons per square inch range of stress for the mainplate.

We have made the mainplate .24" thick, the minimum practicable under the circumstances.

No doubt you know that the range of stress in the Mainplates of your standard 40/50 Front Springs is 22.2 Tons per square inch.

Yours faithfully,
THOS. FIRTH & SONS, LIMITED.

Director.
