To RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} from LFC. x7655 EFC3/T30.4.29. S.S+ STARTER MOTOR. We recently received from you a pinion with sharp edged teeth. We have now tried this. My impression is that it is neither better nor worse than the pinions with rounded and backed-off teeth which we have been using. At the moment, however, the rounded and backed off teeth are instructed for standard and it is therefore the case that on the two cars we are making as standard, we must use pinions with such teeth. Owing now to the less cost of the sharp edged pinion, we should use these on other S.S. chassis on which experimental modifications from standard are incorporated. EFC. | ||
