11/3 W/K - GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}9/R.18.3.39. STANILAND'S CAR. Lp.{Mr Lappin} tells me that Staniland is complain-ing that the running of his car is not now satisfactory - it is fitted with a high compression cylinder head. Will you please contact Staniland and see whether his complaint is justified. If it is, presumably the best way to deal with the matter is to remove the cylinder head and re-cut the valve seats. Lp.{Mr Lappin} says that Staniland wants to borrow another car while his own receives attention, but we have nothing to lend him, and, furthermore, do not think his own car should be held up very long while the valve seats are re-cut.
