258. S/W. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Cx{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager}4/KW/19.11.36. Reference 3-B-IV -body with improved entrance - in the Minutes of the last Meeting held on 10th instant on Page 8 there appears a sentence which states that S. would like to be informed of all the differences there are in this chassis compared with the present standard chassis, for the purpose of arriving at the differences in weight between this car and a standard car. I am taking it that that Minute is sufficient request on our part for the information, and would be glad to know if you can now send this to me, as I am investigating your remarks about this car being over 35 cwts, and your inference that the body is very heavy and Works are wasting time in saving weight on the chassis if Coachbuilders are allowed to be extravagant with the body. So far as the chassis is concerned, there are, I understand, several differences such as wider dash, wider bonnet, spare wheel carrier at the side and reinforced chassis frame. There may of course be other differences too. Could you please let me have the fullest information on this matter at your early convenience. Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} -LMB | ||
