Martindale}2/R.26.5.37. ALUMINIUM BRAKE DRUMS. We want Sr. to have a pair of front drums Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/336 on his car when he takes it to Le Mans next month, as this will be a useful test. Will you please send out to him as soon as possible a pair of these drums, soaked for 70 hours at 170°C, the millenite liners fixed with lock plates Ex.21593 only, no dowel screwsto be fitted. You will see that these drums were instructed for Sr. in our memo. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/AFM{Anthony F. Martindale}5/AP.18.3.37. We suggest that you divert the drums nearly ready for 6.B.IV. No hubs need be fixed to the drums, Sr. will use the ones he has now. The drums must not be finisned machined in the bore. 24 bolts Ex.21592 must be provided. We also want sending out to Sr. a set of Ferodo ML. linings in Bentley size, viz., GB.750 - 4 pieces GB.751 - 4 " GB.752 - 4 " GB.754 - 4 " G.100,789 - 8 " These we will hand to HPS{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr}/WSC.{W.
