To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} - 2 - 5.6.33. owing to the increase of motor traffic than previously G.W.H. I understand you are shortly coming out to France, therefore I wish to warn you of a new law which has recently come into force and which is very important. It is called the right of circulation and it is definately intended to safe guard towns and large villages from merchants entering or leaving towns and villages at speed. The cross roads round a town or village, extending for 3 Kilometers from the outskirts of same, has the right of way choose whether it is a main road or lane. These roads are going to be signed by a yellow mark, also such roads where another road intersects then have a yellow band painted across the entrance, thus if your car runs parralel with the marks you have not the right of way. If your wheels run over the mark, at right angles, you have the right of way. The only thing to do is to keep an eye on the kilometer-stones and slow down when within 3 kilometers of the villages or towns. HHancock | ||
