BIRMINGHAM.

Dear Sirs,

With reference to your letter JDB/GMB. of May 17th. 1938 and the accompanying sample units, we thank you for the opportunity of examining these units, which we are now returning under separate cover. Generally, we find the design of three units, submitted, interesting, but cannot at the moment see our way clear to make use of them.

As regards the dynamo, we note you are still anxious to consider this, and therefore, have pleasure in forwarding you the necessary details. We would like to make it clear, however that the design and performance particulars attached are the essential specified points, with which any machine must comply, in order to justify further consideration. Further, we ought perhaps to inform you that these particulars are obtained for our new design of dynamo just going on to Production. This machine has been developed at considerable expense of time and money and will be produced under efficient conditions.

Consequently, we do not anticipate that it can easily be equalled at a lower, or even the same price.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
