We agree that by the combination of circumstances that you mention, it would appear that even using the full Maybach scheme, a crash could be produced. We can reproduce the crash on our gearbox here, using it with no free position. We are, however, writing to Maybach's to find out whether they have any means of overcoming the trouble. When I actually tried their cars I do not think that I succeeded in reproducing the conditions which we now know give us the worse results.
