Dear Sir,

We shall have the 12 H.P. four-door Sports Saloon ready for delivery on January 1st. I spoke to Mr. Maurice Wilks yesterday with regard to the raising of the compression and I understand that he has discussed this point with you and that for the time being the car will be run with the standard head and single carburettor.

The remaining point, therefore, to be settled is the question of registration. I am not clear as to whether we were to do this but if so I should be glad if you could send an insurance Cover Note. The registration number which will be allotted in this case will be AHP.677. If, however, you decide to register the car in Derby, I will send on a certified registration form which can be used. In due course you can then advise us as to the allotted number and we will have the plates painted. Perhaps in due course you will indicate your wishes with regard to delivery of the car.

If I might express a personal opinion, I feel that there is little advantage to be derived from the raising of the compression as if this is done it is necessary to fit two carburettors. There is no means of silencing these carburettors and the engine will be considerably noisier. I do not think that this alteration is worth the sacrifice of the smooth quiet running which is obtained with the standard car and which, incidentally, is capable of probably about 75 miles per hour when run-in.

Yours faithfully,

Asst: Sales Manager.
