Bentley III Side and Cross Steering Tubes. Further to our E/Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}5/MN.30.11.36 asking you to collect together the costs of the various designs of adjustable tube joint end which we have submitted to you, we are able to inform you that when Mr.Bernard of Tubes Ltd. was here yesterday he told us that the quotation he gave us for the butted tube shown on our N.Sch.4920 was in error and very much too high. He suggested that a single ended butted tube could be supplied in nickel steel for from sixpence to ninepence extra per tube provided the degree of thickening was not more than 50% of the tube thickness. We would be glad if the Order Office would again obtain a definite price for the butted tube so that you can give us a new price for the design N.Sch.4920. Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} | ||
