RE THERMOSTAT ARRANGEMENT ON "PACKARD" CAR.

Attached herewith is a sketch which shews the thermostat arrangement on the Packard Car. The butterfly valves are arranged in this thermostat so that the circulation through the radiator is entirely stopped until the thermostat warms up and opens the valves.

The thermostat operates as follows:-

Up to 55°C - movement nil.
" " 58°C - " .125".
" " 61°C - " .250".
" " 65°C - " .650".
