TEST OF TUNGSTEN CONTACT POINTS (V)
FANSTEEL CO. U.S.A. (2)

These points, fitted by us to the R.R. standard blade and screw, have completed 400 hours running on the bench under standard conditions.

They are affected in a very similar way to the points by the Tungsten Manf. Co.,n reported AA.{D. Abbot-Anderson}62, 25.5.21, the blade being pitted and the screw having a projection to correspond.

Both points have turned a dark blue, with white markings.

In this case the riveting at the back of the blade has become discoloured whereas the riveting by the Tungsten Manf. Co. remained bright.

It does not seem therefore that the riveting has any very great effect on the performance of the points, in view of the similarity of the above two cases.

No resistance could be observed at the contacts before or after the test.
