Monocle plate for nose support.

Could we provide some lateral stiffness in plan if needed by something of this kind of flat strips of steel, or shall we fit at front and gearbox good tubular crossmember with reinforced ends. Every expensive piece should be tested to prove its necessity and worth.

Not very good.

Room for hardened race here.

Few end teeth or small woodruff but section may be too thin for keyway.

Slow taper press fit: timing not easy - suggest quicker.

Prefer this. Probably inside surface of crankshaft hard enough for roller bearing carrying light load.
