X1583 To Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} c. to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}18/KW.27.9.34. Oils for Hypoid Axles. This is to confirm our asking you to run a 40/50 axle right from the start on Wakefield's Hi Press oil and then let us know after the usual dynamometer and road testing whether any trouble has been experienced. We are still trying to find a substitute for Whitmore's compound, and this new Wakefield oil has proved on ball bearing tests to be better as regards forming sludge than any oil so far tried. The manufacturers claim that it has the properties of an extreme pressure lubricant. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} | ||
