HOTEL DE FRANCE. CHATEAUROUX. Indre. France. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GWH{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux}/HFH{Hoppy F. Hamilton}/3/JAB. 13th May 1937. [Handwritten Notes: 44B 1023] To. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} 3. B. IV. Harmonic Stabiliser. During the run of II.5.37, it was discovered that the top leaf of the Wilmot-Breeden front stabiliser was broken. This was therefore removed. On the return run without the bumper bar, it was noticed that the sideways chassis shake that had been complained of, had diminished considerably. We have here a spare bumper-bar from which the top leaf was taken, and the broken leaf was therefore replaced. With the repaired bumper-bar fitted, the front of the car is now practically normal. The wing and headlamp movements, and steering column whip, have almost disappeared. From the appearance of the breakage, it looks as if it has been fractured for some time. The break is across one of the holes through which the securing clips pass. The bottom leaf is in good condition. ---------- Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GWH{George W.
