R.R. 238a (100 T) (S.H. 159 11-8-20) G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} 2600 TO HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} FROM DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} SECRET DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}2/M22.5.24. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} A.{Mr Adams} C. BRAKE LINKAGE. X9940 Referring to HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/ACLL/IG19524., we agree that it is necessary to experiment to get the exact suitable ratio of braking between front and back, and we suggest that this should be gone into at first opportunity rather carefully, and a good proportion evolved before any alteration is made to the proportions of the balancing lever. It seems likely that there will be 2 distributions of braking, one suitable for closed, and the other for open cars, but Mr. Royce now proposes to still further reduce the braking on the front to overcome the twisting of the axle, and consequently the figures we have given you will require still further modification.
