X6018 HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.2/AD. February 9th, 1932. X3374 Messrs. Joseph Lucas Ltd. Great King St.{Capt. P. R. Strong} Birmingham. For the attention of Mr. R.M. Smith. Dear Sirs, When Mr. Thacker visited us last I mentioned that I should like to visit your Research Laboratories again and talk over with Dr. Turner and others, various experimental developments in connection with electrical chassis items etc. and he said he would be delighted to see us and referred me to you. We might be able to mutually help each other in certain directions as our last visit proved very helpful especially in view of the fact that there was mutually understood to be no question of competition between us. This time I am hoping to bring with me the superintendent of our electrical fitting shop Mr. E.J. Brock. He is particularly anxious to see coil winding and condenser construction in progress and as he is an expert in bakelite-mouldings he might be able to pass on some useful hints to your moulding experts. If it is convenient to all concerned we should like to come over on Wednesday next 17th inst., but please do not hesitate to alter this date if not convenient to yourselves. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
