Dear Sirs, For the attention of Mr. C.S. Steadman. With reference to the writer's call on you in regard to Heaters, we confirm that we are preparing two modified arrangements of our Heater - one with the motor housed in the radiator and another arranged so that the motor is on the opposite side of the bulkhead, driving the fan by means of a flexible drive. We hope to have these arrangements ready towards the end of the week. In the meantime we are enclosing you blue print No. EX.Y.10529 covering the radiator fan and motor housing as we understand you would like to have this by you. This particular drawing covers a straightforward blower design, that is, in which all the air drawn through the radiator is discharged through the tangential outlet and suitable for housing in any convenient part of the car, either complete as shown on the drawing or the radiator separated from the blower. We find that our details drawing of the standard Smith HaDees blower and radiator are not quite completed, but as soon as these are available, which we hope will be next week, we will let you have them. We are also enclosing you two suggested layouts for heating and ventilating a Limousine, and would inform you that scheme "B" with the motor under the driver's seat is the most effective, as we find on test that the maximum volume of air is available when the pipe-work and bends, etc., are on the suction side of the blower.
