DUNLOP WHEELS. +3725

We find that the latest Dunlop wheel complete with tyre weighs 67 lbs. compared with 86 lbs. for the present standard wheel and tyre. This means that there is a saving of 19 lbs. per wheel, or 114 lbs. per car when these wheels are carried.

Below are particulars of weights :-

DUNLOP STANDARD.
Wheel 32 X 4 1/2 ----- 43 lbs.
Cover 33 X 5 ----- 38 lbs.
Tube 33 X 5 ----- 5 lbs.
Wheel complete with cover, tube and balance weights :- 86 lbs.

DUNLOP WELL-BASED WHEEL.
Wheel 33 1/2 lbs.
Cover 29 lbs.
Tube 4 1/2 lbs.
Wheel fitted complete with cover and tube :- 67 lbs.

We have so far only received one sample wheel - we are expecting others today. We will make tests on the effect of the reduction in weight on wobbles. We anticipate there will be a marked improvement. We are arranging to run a set of these tyres 10,000 miles. There may be some delay at the moment, however, in obtaining the tyres.
