R.R. 493A (50m) (D.B. 175 25-9-24) J.H.D. EXPERIMENTAL REPORT. -3- Expl. No. REF: He/ACL/LCS.1.25. and keyway on the crankshaft must be facing upwards. Remove the withdrawal nut E.70799 and the Starting Dog Cap E.70801 so that the keyway can be seen. Slide the spring drive on to the crankshaft so that the driving pinion is just in mesh with the cam wheel, then if necessary turn so that the key and keyway are in line. The spring drive should slide easily into position. If it will not slide on easily, force should not be used because this is liable to damage the taper. Replace Starting Dog Cap and withdrawal nut and tighten Drive on taper by the starting dog cap. WHEELCASE AND OIL SPIRAL. When the wheelcase is fitted the radial clearance between the case and the oil spiral of the flanged hub E.71167 should be .010 to .013" all round. Clearances between the wheelcase and spring drive must be checked as per instructions on the drawing. Further notes on grinding timing gears will be forwarded in due course. He/ACL. | ||
