Wd{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}6/NJ22.11.20. X4295. Re Mercury Sparking Plugs. Upon receipt of yours Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}4/LG16.11.20, we wrote the Mercury Sparking Plug Co. stating that as the plugs they had submitted to us are of the mica type, with the centre portion detachable, they did not interest us, as, if we make a change at all, it would be in favour of a plug with porcelain type of insulator. We asked them to say whether they wished us to return the sample plugs to them. This morning we are in receipt of a further letter from these people stating that six of the sample plugs submitted to us are of their GB.2 type with porcelain insulators, and, as they think we must have overlooked this, they draw our attention to the fact and have also sent us six further plugs of their GB.3 type with porcelain insulation and ask that we will put both the GB.2 and GB.3 plugs on test. If you do not wish to carry out any further test of Mercury sparking plugs, please let me know and I will return all the sample plugs to the makers. Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} 6 Plugs herewith. | ||
