-7- suot switch, will be so to speak filled automatically not quite fully whenever necessary in much the same way that water is replaced, not quite filling the tank, in a water supply tank, the level of the water of which is controlled by a ball float and valve. We feel that the battery in the ordinary frequency of use will behave very satisfactorily with such an arrangement and in spite of the fact of never having a thorough overcharge, will never have a chance of getting any of its elements into a wrong condition. When the car has been standing long enough in any case for the battery otherwise to go wrong, that is the time when it could reasonably be expected to be removed from the car and given a good gassing charge from a separate source without voltage control.
