ROLLS-ROYCE OF AMERICA, INC. SPRINGFIELD, MASS. X5771 RECEIVED MaEB8728 August 7th, 1928. Mr. E.W. Hives, ROLLS-ROYCE LTD., Derby, England. Dear Hives, In a conversation with you some time ago, you informed me that the HP of the 20 HP engine had been increased by approximately 50%. I should be glad to know whether the engine with the increased power has been fitted to the 20HP car which you were about to send to Mr. Royce, when I left. Will you also tell me - (A) Whether the engine fitted to this car has been fitted with the aluminum head? (B) Compression ratio employed. (C) Compression ratio used with the standard 20HP car. (D) Your opinion of the car as regards power and speed compared with the Buick car which you recently tried. (E) Whether you notice any improvement in the riding, either as regards side sway or pitching, from the old car. TN/B Yours faithfully, Chas. Nadin. | ||
