X 3445 EFC. BY2/H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} 28. 3. 24. I am handing you herewith a Coil and Ballast Resistance taken from Chassis 58-S-7. also original report in connection with same, as supplied to me by EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}'s report being EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}/HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}35/O.{Mr Oldham} 27. 3. 24. It is evident from the available information that the insulation on the L.T. wires to the Ballast Resistance worked out, due to heat, and caused the first stoppage by coating the terminals with an insulating layer which prevented the low tension current getting through. Later the trouble again developed, but this time it appears to have been the coil, but in any case the same features were present. It appears to me quite feasible that the battery connection may have been loose or some other of the electrical connections, which would result in putting up the voltage of the battery, and therefore the current passing through the primary, causing excessive heat. I would like to have your fully considered report covering both EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}'s report and my suggestions in connection with same. BY.{R.W.
