Both the Bentley and the Wraith have now completed 10,000 Miles' running at Chateauroux. A brief examination of the pistons and bearings is being carried out on the Wraith to ensure that there are no signs of failure, the remaining 5,000 miles' running will then be completed. We are proposing to leave the Bentley at Chateauroux for a few days as while the Wraith examination is taking place, the testers could conveniently run some miles on this car when otherwise they might be unoccupied. The weakening off of the carburetters on the Bentley, which was mentioned at the last Conference and is recorded in the Minutes, has been traced to the drain holes from the chambers being blocked with snow. Steps will be taken to reduce the chance of this happening. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
