To overcome complaints. X No. 3908 823 Drawing No. 8830 Part List Experimental Test Report. An aluminium asbestos lined baffle is fitted above the silencer. It is well protected by the silencer from damage. Road Test Report. Fitted to 14-EX - run 1000 miles. Fitted to 8-EX - run 500 miles. Tests shew it to be a definite improvement. Recommended for standardisation at once. A Scrap and replace at all costs, including Chassis already delivered to Customers B Scrap and replace on Chassis in Works C Scrap present stock and replace on all Chassis not yet handed to test.
