SPECIFICATION FOR B.56.BN.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} FOR THE FITTING SHOP.

Engine. 1. RR.56. big ends and shims.
2. Main bearings - see Swdl.{Len H. Swindell}
3. Crack test pistons - if O.K. refit.
4. Deturbulated cylinder head and have .035" machined off the face LeC.5002.
5. Engine to have new Packard crankshaft.
6. Water holes to be blanked off on first three cylinders as standard production.

Steering 7. To be put back to standard, at present is flexible on the frame.

Gearbox. 8. Fit semi-isolated gear lever to N.Sch.4806.

Brakes 9. To RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}/WSC.{W. S. Cassel}3/BA.25.10.36. as instructed. Otherwise standard.

Clutch 10. Fit 10.A6. type ventilated clutch (in Shop) with standard driven plate.

Exhaust System 11. Downtake pipe, front expansion box and front intermediate pipe as instructed for standard production i.e. aluminised M/S. with nickel plated 24.SWG. mild steel lagging cover. Front silencer to be made same length as present standard but only 4.00" in dia. and a 2.000" perforated tube straight through it. Rear intermediate pipe as present standard. Rear Silencer to be made with a 2.000" perforated tube straight through it, and deleting EB.877 and EB.881 pipes and centre baffle. This silencer to be lagged similar to front silencer. Tail pipe to be made with inner pipe in perforated tubing 1.750" dia, with an outer tubing of 16.SWG. mild steel 2.750" dia. The area between the tubes to be filled with GLASS SILK and end covers welded in position.
