X.7120. To Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn.{Mr Robinson} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn{Mr Robinson}2/AD29.8.30. 26-EX. Should this car suffer from fuel starvation at high speeds it may be due to the air under the bonnet becoming so hot that there is a vapour lock in the fuel system, in which case the best procedure is to remove the filter element which improves matters somewhat. The other possibility is that the autovac may be unable to keep pace with the requirements of the engine on prolonged speed bursts of 3 or 4 miles, in which case the solution is to run with the petrol tap turned over to the reserve position which will overcome the trouble.
