Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/Jnr.{Charles L. Jenner} from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell} HIGH POWER HEAD. Design. (1) Jnr.{Charles L. Jenner} to investigate possibilities of moving inlet valve over towards ex. valve. (2) Full Bumps and c/r to suit. (3) Spark plug Position. Development. (1) Swdl.{Len H. Swindell} to try damaged head with face shaved to adjust C/r.{Sir Henry Royce} and combustion chamber extended. (2) Crank to be tried with (a) No damper. (b) Damper with 50% more inertia. (c) Damper with amount of inertia used by Grylls. Measurements of swing in each case. ------------ Run with a slack camwheel and measure - (1) Crank oscillation. (2) Camshaft oscillation. Try also with a fan on. ------------ Wyman to run Wraith about with a solid crank pinion to estimate gear wear. Very flexible dynamo coupling to be used. Swdl.{Len H. Swindell} to get a set of exhaust valves undrilled for test. Ignition advance curve required for B.60 on road. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
