In view of this condition we would like to alter the "New PhantomCodename for PHANTOM I" carburetter somewhat as shown in the attached print, so that the aluminum silencer feeds air to both the air intakes. It will then be possible to replace the silencer by an aluminum casting of the type indicated and fit an air cleaner on demand. Later, when we have more experience with air-cleaners of various types we shall possibly ask permission to fit one as standard, sending suitable samples to England for accurate tests.
