Dear Sirs,
For the attention of Mr. C.S. Steadman.
With reference to your letter of the 3rd inst. we are sorry to hear that you are unable to make use of our Filter.
We quite appreciate that the Filter may not be suitable for your requirements on the rocker gear due to the oil delivery, but we are surprised to learn that the filter does not keep the oil in the sump clean when fitted in the normal manner as a bypass filter.
We have many cars under test and have supplied quite a number with excellent results, so much so that we have no hesitation in saying, that provided the filter is fitted correctly there is no difficulty in getting between 10,000 and 20,000 miles service.
The only possible causes of failure are as under -
A - Filter too small for the engine.
B - Insufficient heat.
C - Mechanical fault in Filter.
It is possible that there is a mechanical fault in the filter as we have only just started production. Also, the question of heat is of absolute importance as with this type of filter it is essential it should be fitted where heat is available, preferably near the exhaust manifold. It is possible that you have not been able to
