CHASSIS 14-PK. STEERING NUT. We have examined the steering nut off 14-PK car, and are of the opinion that the excessive wear on the nut has been caused by lack of lubrication. Although we do not doubt that your man Henning may have oiled the steering, all the evidence goes to prove that the oil did not get on to the surfaces of the worm and nut. The lubrication of the steering nut and worm on a standard 40/50 HP. car is a recognised weakness and designs are in hand to ensure that on future cars there will be a constant supply of oil on these parts.
