| To Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} X761d Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}15/KW.12.10.36. B-10-DG. Mr. Thompson. The owner makes the following complaints in connection with this car :- (1) Steering column control rattles badly. (2) Strong smell of oil in the car when hot. There are numerous oil leaks from the engine and we recommend that the latest type filler cap is fitted to stop the leak at this point. (3) Tendency to tramp at high speeds. Are the wheels properly in balance ? (4) Bad rattles from the rear of the body on poor surfaces. (5) Bad booms on the over-run round about 3500 to 3000 R.P.M. (6) Petrol gauge erratic and blows fuses repeatedly. (7) Tappets noisy and idling erratic. At the same time that you attend to these jobs will you please decarbonise the car. I have tried the car and the boom on the over-run is so bad as to suggest that the flywheel is out of balance, also that the floorboards are touching the gearbox.
