To Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. Wer. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Ey. Ox. Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst. Ey/RD. E/HV. E/JNR.{Charles L. Jenner} X550 re 25/30 HP. Chassis Instrument Board and Steering Column Controls. Replying to your memo Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}7/E.15.6.36, it will be remembered that we raised the question once before of using the Phantom III steering and controls on the 25/30 chassis, and it was decided at the time to wait and introduce these features on Wraith II, as recorded in the minutes Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager}4/KW.9.1.36 of one of the meetings held at Derby. There is no difficulty about introducing this change. It is just a matter of when it can be done. I am afraid, however, the material is all in for N.2. series, on which the new instrument board starts, and that the steering wheel and control change cannot be brought in until O.2. series, and for this instructions would have to be issued immediately.
