There is a tappet knock and I think these will develop until the ball ends of the tappet rods are really well bedded into their seatings.
The starter works well and the gear is very good as regards silence.
Dynamo and electrical system generally is working well and the rate of charge is good.
The petrol consumption has worked out at 20 miles per gallon from Derby, which I consider to be good as we have driven fast all the way and have not done anything to obtain good consumption.
The clutch works nicely and I think is improving although at the start it did not free itself when disengaged. It has developed a slight squeak on engagement but I do not regard this as serious. I will watch if it develops further. The gear box is not altogether satisfactory but these defects are such as can be put right in manufacture. The sideshaft makes a dry noise when running light and this may be due to
