DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} x5250 BY7/G.21.5.28. 20 HP. CHASSIS. ----------------- Referring to DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}1/M19.5.28. from which we understand R.{Sir Henry Royce} is most anxious to get the improvements incorporated in the Geoffrey Smith radiator, bonnet and dash on standard as soon as possible, we give below the modifications in dimensions, which will cover the chassis as delivered :- Radiator 1.400" higher. Dash .750" higher at the centre and shoulders, also 2" wider than standard. This should enable you to get out the necessary drawings, and we would impress upon you the fact that since we have held up parts in accordance with R's instructions, it is most important that we should have this modification without delay, otherwise it will not be able to be brought in at the second half of 'N' series for which we are aiming at the moment. We have not got an arrangement drawing, but enclose sketch on which we have given present standard dimensions and dimensions adopted for the Geoffrey Smith chassis. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} | ||
