Bentley / Mr Barrington} Mr.Embiricos OIL LEAKS FROM CRANKCASE The following is an extract from a memo we have received from P. in regard to the above .- "This car has very recently been delivered to the owner. He called with it a few days ago and we discovered that there was an oil leakage past the oil suction tube, as fitted inside the bottom half of the crankcase. As the nuts of the two bolts which hold the tube in position are inside the bottom half, it will be necessary for us to remove the bottom half in order to tighten up the nuts to cure the oil leakage". We have experienced this trouble with engines on test, and the question of some locking device for the internal bolts has been suggested. It has been considered, however, that this should not be necessary, since if the job is once made right it should give no further trouble. We are bringing the point forward for your further consideration, although as far as I know the above is the first complaint that has been received. Will Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} please make a note of this for the quarterly report? EB EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} | ||
